Tile installation, cabinetry, and general construction are still on the schedule to finish this project out.

The demolition and rough carpentry on this project is complete we are ready for M.E.P. rough-in.

We are now in the full swing of construction on this kitchen, dining room, family room remodel. There has been an extensive amount of electrical performed, some minor plumbing, and some minor mechanical. One of the elements that makes this project interesting is the radiant floor heating that we have had to contend with to make floor penetrations for new plumbing and electrical locations. We have isolated these areas and carefully worked around them. We did have a mishap regarding one of the radiant tubes but quickly made the repairs and no damage was done.

Overall the project is moving along well and is nearly on schedule we are currently 2 days behind but are pushing hard to make up the time. Sitka Projects is the General Contrator on the project and the Sitka Team is also building the custom set of cherry cabinetry for the space.

Patch and Repair complete, Cabinets Installed, Ready for floor re-finish

Sitka Projects, LLC is the General Contractor on this Kitchen Remodel project.  We have been working closely with the owner to assure the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing details are met accurately and efficiently.  Unfortunately Sitka will not be installing Sitka Custom Cabinetry on this project, but will be over seeing the project as a whole like normal.

Many of the homes constructed in the late 90′s come equipped with bulk head soffits at the perimeter of the ceiling in the kitchen area.  These are now looking dated and take up space.  Sitka generally removes these soffits during the kitchen remodeling process.  This allows for a full height upper cabinet and a more elegant crown moulding to ceiling transfer.

Please note that during the removal of the soffit our team always encounters some electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or all 3 that is located in the void area of the soffit.  On this particular project there was a significant amount of electrical and just some minor plumbing.  We relocated these items directly after the demolition.

We have had this project in the planing stage for about the last year. The owner and I are very excited to see it finally kicked off!  The owners have been fantastic to work with we really couldn’t ask for much more.  We have a fantastic remodel during what should be the slower part of the year and well planed remodel at that!  Allot about how well a project goes is how much effort is put into the planning and the working relationship between the owner, contractor, and architect.  We have started building Sitka Custom Cabinetry for this new space as Sitka General Construction makes it’s way through the demolition and begins to bring in the specialty trades needed.

This project was really fun to build!  The owner is an architect and really drove the design of this project.  With a new addition coming to our clients family this hip new contemporary room will serve as very functional space for the new baby and mother.

The cabinetry is mahogany with 3 stage finish, slab style doors, and European style box construction.  The framing of the new room consists of steel studs and wood backing for the track assembly supporting the sliding door system. We actually had to cut the studs into the existing flooring.  The existing flooring was protected and preserved as part of the new design. We had added electrical circuits, fire sprinklers, and HVAC return ducting added to the space by our team of professionals.  The inside of the room is fairly modest with built-in cabinetry style closet and a Murphy bed ganged together to give cool look that matches the cabinetry throughout the rest of the space.  The glass re-light picks up allot of light from the rest of the condo and gives the room a more open feel.

The owner is really enjoying the new space and is thrilled with our work and craftsmanship.  We’ll get some pro photos posted in our gallery when we get them.

We are nearly complete with this Tigard, Oregon porch cover and deck home improvement.  Inspections are going really well and our clients our really excited about the new addition to their home.  The lighting is in and will be shown in our next blog…..it looks fantastic at night!

Sitka Projects enjoys performing projects like these. As a General Contractor and a custom cabinet maker our goal is to perform projects where both of these skills come together to benifit the client and all parties involved.  With this being said even though there is no custom cabinetry……the same level of detail and precision is put into the production and general construction activities.  The details that are important to our clients are important to us and in constuction the detail is what counts.
